AROMATHERAPY & ESSENTIAL OILS
 Aromatherapy
is the ancient practice of using the essential oils of certain plants
in medicines, spices, and perfumery. Formed in the petals, leaves,
roots, resin, barks, stems, seeds, grasses, stalks, and rinds of
various plants from around the world, essential oils are generally
what give the plant its particular aroma.
For a plant the essential oil is just that: essential. It performs
necessary functions such as shielding the surfaces of the plant
from the invasion of natural bacteria and is even considered to
be the warming aura that surrounds and protects the plant from temperature
fluctuations.
The term aromatherapy is also used to describe a medicinal action
on the body. Today's research is validating the century old practice
of using the oils in antibacterial, antiseptic and anti-fungal treatments.
Essential oils are most effective through inhalation or absorption
through the skin into the body. To take an essential oil in via
breathing, use a diffuser to fill a room with the scent of the oil.
In order to use any essential oil on your skin (except Lavender,
which can be applied directly), use any of our high
quality carrier oils to dilute the potent essential oils before
applying.
